My New Fall Centerpiece

.

Last night, I decided it was time to pull out the Halloween decorations from the attic.  My kids were dying to see all the treasures.  After dinner, I pulled down the attic ladder and a box fell out of the attic, hit me on the way down and busted on the concrete garage floor.  I wasn’t hurt (except my finger, when I tried to catch the box), but I was shocked.  Nothing has ever fallen out of the attic before.  I’m still not sure how it happened.

Anyway, it took me a minute to gather my wits before I realized what had fallen.  I nearly cried when I realized it was my Christmas Village.  I had several houses and peoples and stuff.  All but one house was distroyed (think tornado).  I cleaned up the mess, and stifled the tears.  Stuff happens.

An hour later, I finally started brining down the Halloween decorations. The kids were overjoyed looking at their Halloween tshirts and stuffed animals.  I even found a Halloween village that I forgot I had.

Anyway, this morning I decided to make a fall centerpiece for my kitchen table.

Fall Village

I set up my fall village in the foyer. It looks so pretty, but my little boy cna’t keep his hands off it. Everytime I look, something else has moved. I won’t belong before I find the people in his room.

Decorating the K5 room at church with a Fish theme

The Church’s children’s director, Mary, asked me to help her decorate the kindergarten classroom.  It is a small cinder block room and echoes terribly, especially with my 5 yr old boy in the room.

I didn’t think it would be a big project, so I happily told her I would help. Mary suggested using foam panels attached to the wall to reduce the echo. I suggested covering the panels with felt. Our little project took us nearly 5 whole days.  And, we still aren’t finished.  We need to paint the bottom right panel with chalkboard/magnetic paint.  I am sure we will finish it next week.

The below picture is of the nearly finished wall.  The white panel is for the magnetic chalkboard paint.
