Thrift Score Treasures

I love thrift store finds.  I had a really good thrift score the other day.  Check out what I found:

  • Pampered Chef Tea Pitcher (I washed, then soaked it in a weak bleach solution to remove the tea stains.  It looks brand new now).
  • 5 Cobalt blue kitchen canisters. I bought these for my mother, but I like them so much they are now on my kitchen counter.  Sorry mom.
  • 5 differnt knit yardages.  I’ve been making t-shirts. I’m sure this will come in handy.
  • 2 crafty magazine – these were a bust – a total waste of 25 cents.
  • 8 clear dessert cups – I really liked these, cause they are stackable.  I have a “thing” for clear glass.
  • 2 glass pumpkins – Do I really need to explian?
  • Curling Iron/Hair dryer – My last one burned up and I needed a new one BAD.  This one is still in the package.  Works great!!!
  • Plaid fabric – I have a weakness for plaid.  Not sure what I will use this for.

Knitting Machine

I lucked up on a knitting machine at the Thrift Store a month or so ago.  Today, I finally found time to try it out.  I LOVE IT.  It is the coolest thing ever.  It is so easy.  It came with a VCR tape, but I figured it out by reading the directions.  You can tell English speaking people wrote those directions.  As  a technical writer, I can always tell when I non-english speaking person writes the directions.   Another job goes overseas….

Anyway, I knit a large rectangle as my test.  It has many dropped stitches and troubles, but it is beautiful to me.  I can’t wait to make a scarf or something.

My cousin Amy taught me to crochet this past weekend, but when I sat down at home to crochet, I couldn’t do it.  I called her for another lesson.  I found the cutest crochet headband pattern at JoAnn’s and i want to make it for my daughter.
